Robbie Williams’ mum Jan has urged fans of the troubled singer to show their support and send him letters – even though he can’t receive them as part of his treatment. Robbie admitted himself to America’s Meadows rahab centre on his 33rd birthday, after revealing his addiction to prescription drugs, among other vices. “When you go through something like this, the more support you get the better” Jan Williams told The Sun.
She said that she will take any letters that are written straight to Robbie, when she goes to visit him in Los Angeles. As part of his treatment in rehab the ex-Take That singer is not allowed to use the internet or receive letters. Meanwhile Robbie’s dad has also spoken out about his son’s progress, and claims that he’ll be out of treatment quicker than expected.
“We are hoping to have him out of rehab soon” said Pete, adding “Rob has plenty of friends and family around to support him. I speak to him every day and he is in fine fettle. He is doing well.” Get well soon Robbie!

Pop star Robbie Williams has made excellent progress in rehabilitation and could be discharged within days, according to his dad. Peter Conway has been in daily contact with his son during his twelve day stint in the Meadows clinic in Arizona, and has been heartened by how Robbie has dealt with his addictions to prescription drugs and caffeine.
He tells The Star, “Robbie is in good humour, cracking jokes and on good form. I’m extremely positive about him – he is doing well. I speak to him every day and he is in fine fettle. “I am looking forward to flying over to the States to see Rob. We are hoping to have him out of rehab very soon. Rob has plenty of friends and family around to support him.”

BOYBAND pioneers Take That have announced they are playing O2 as part of their UK tour. One of the biggest pop sensations of the 90s, Take That – minus Robbie Williams – came back with a vengeance last year. Triumphs included a successful reunion tour, a chart-topping album, Beautiful World, and the single Patience – which won Best British Single at the Brits earlier this month.
It was the band’s first Brit Award since 1996. The old troupers beat off stiff competition from Snow Patrol, Will Young, Razorlight and The Feeling. The Beautiful World Tour kicks off at Birmingham’s NEC in November. The band will be playing five gigs, between November 29 and December 4, at O2 – the former Millenium Dome in Greenwich.

Take That have offered to lend their support to Robbie Williams after he recently checked into rehab.
The pop bad boy was admitted to a US clinic last week for addiction to prescription drugs.
Following his admittance, a number of stars lined up to mock Robbie including comedian Russell Brand and Oasis star Noel Gallagher.
Brand made light of Williams’ return to rehab during this year’s Brit Awards by joking that a giant padlock on stage was his medicine cabinet while Gallagher said: “If you take drugs, you end up in rehab unless you’re a rock like me – and then you just give them up.”
But Take That singer Mark Owen hit back and said their comments were uncalled for.
He said: “I felt bad at the Brits because there were some jokes said about Robbie that made it look like he was being mocked. When I heard about him checking into rehab I felt really sad – I just want him to get happy again.”
Fellow singer Howard Donald also said that he has tried to get into contact with his former bandmate.

Singer Robbie Williams has been admitted to a rehabilitation centre in the United States where he will undergo treatment for prescription drug addiction, his agent said on Tuesday.
Williams, who celebrates his 33rd birthday on Tuesday, is one of Europe’s most successful entertainers who rose to fame as a member of the hit boy band Take That before going solo.
“Robbie Williams has today been admitted into a treatment centre in America for his dependency on prescription drugs,” his public relations agent in London said. “There will be no further comment on this matter.”
Williams, who was born in Britain and now has a home in Los Angeles, has a history of struggling with addictions and was treated for drug and alcohol dependency after Take That split up in 1995.
His latest album, Rudebox, has had mixed reviews in Britain and sold just under a million copies in the United States.

Robbie Williams is to release a new swing album by the end of the summer. Executives at the singer’s record label EMI are worried after his recent Rudebox album failed to live up to expectations and divided fans. They hope that the new album will turn around Robbie’s fortunes and help him to win back his reputation. A source told the Daily Star: “Rudebox has failed to match the sales of any of Robbie’s previous albums and a lot of people are very worried. There’s a swing album in the can and the top brass want it in the shops as soon as possible. “Staff at the label have a lot of affection for Rudebox. But the public hasn’t. Everyone’s confident that another collection of swing songs will re-connect him to his fanbase.”

Robbie Williams is allegedy building an indoor football pitch worth 800,000 in his LA mansion according to UK newspaper-The Sun. The Rudebox singer, who is an avid football fan, recently bought a 5 million pound LA mansion with the sole intention of building a full size football pitch. According to the paper, the singer has become increasingly ‘paranoid’ about people spying on him whilst playing the game and opted for his own pitch.
He is also said to be ecstatic over his hero David Beckham’s move to LA and hopes that his indoor pitch will entice the legendary footballer into a kick about with Williams. One of Williams’ close friends told the Sun, ‘Football is more of an obsession than a hobby for him these days-but the Yanks think it’s a little eccentric to have one, let alone two pitches in your house’.

Robbie Williams’ friends bring him cigarettes as a gift when they visit him in Los Angeles. The Stoke-On-Trent-born singer only smokes Silk Cut brand cigarettes but has difficulty buying them in America. Robbie said: “Silk Cut are hard to find in Los Angeles, so I get people to bring them out when they visit. I don’t like smoking anything else.”
Before Christmas, Robbie vowed to quit smoking in 2007. The ‘Angels’ singer, who smokes up to 60 cigarettes a day, insisted he was determined to beat his nicotine addiction after overcoming his problems with alcohol and drugs. He said: “I want to give up cigarettes for good in 2007. I may go and see a hypnotist, that seems like a good idea. I smoke loads and I really don’t want to anymore. But I’m terrified of giving up. I’m a fat bloke inside this body and the minute I stop smoking, I will put on weight.”
