Take That’s Progress Live 2011 tour is set to be their biggest yet, reportedly costing ”close to £50 million” to stage.
Take That’s Progress Live 2011 tour will reportedly cost “close to £50 million” to stage. The ‘Love Love’ group are planning a spectacular event to beat even their 2009 The Circus Live dates – which saw them perform atop a huge elephant stage prop – this summer, reportedly ploughing millions into the production, which is rumoured to have a futuristic or sci-fi theme.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If you think flying machines, robots, space and futuristic landscapes, you won’t be too far off the mark. It will be a massive no-expense-spared production – with the costs of staging it likely to run close to £50 million.” Read the rest…

It may only take a minute to fall in love, but to reach the zenith of your artistic career can take a while longer, as Take That have discovered. After 17 No 1 hits, pop world domination, an acrimonious split and a dewy-eyed reunion, the phenomenally successful boy-turned-manband were finally crowned best British group at the Brit awards, 21 years after their first performance on the cheesy late-night TV show The Hitman & Her. Take That paid tribute to Robbie Williams after winning the British Group award at the Brit Awards 2011 tonight (February 15). The band, who welcomed Williams back into the fold last year, beat off competition from Biffy Clyro, The xx, Gorillaz and Mumford and Sons to take home the gong from the London O2 Arena ceremony.
After singer Jason Orange admitted from the stage that the band were “sheepish” about collecting awards, bandmate Mark Owen commented: “Rob, thanks for coming back mate, appreciate it.” It’s the first time Take That have won the award, despite receiving three previous nominations.
Earlier in the night, the band opened the show by playing their latest single ‘Kidz’. (source: nme.com)

Those with Take That tickets to the band’s upcoming tour will not see the group perform any “silly” dance routines, Robbie Williams has said. The singer rejoined the band in 2010 after quitting 15 years ago and will take part on the Progress Live tour later this year. However, speaking to the Daily Mirror, the star said that they will not be bringing back the sort of high-energy choreography they used to perform last time he toured with the band.
“We could do the dance routines we did first time around, but with this tour it’s bound to look silly, isn’t it,” said the 36-year-old. However, a source said that many fans will want the tour to be similar to the “old days” when Robbie was last in the band. “Fair enough they might not be able to do all the back-breaking routines, but a wave and a cheesy grin alone just won’t cut it,” they said.
