Take That have ruled out any possibility of Robbie Williams rejoining the band. Despite recent speculation and comments from their former band member that he may return to the four-piece, singer Gary Barlow has now confirmed that a reunion is unlikely. “People constantly ask if Robbie will rejoin us but nothing has changed,” Barlow told Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles on his Quiz Night TV show. “We’re a happy band right now. Howard Donald has admitted that he had a ‘group w*nk’ with Robbie Williams in the early days of Take That. The singer revealed that the pair masturbated in the same room together when the band first started out. “It were me and Rob… it only happened once,” he told Q magazine.

Robbie Williams’ manager Tim Clark has suggested that the singer is considering rejoining Take That at their forthcoming London Wembley Stadium gigs. Clark told The Sun that Williams might make a cameo at one of the gigs – but scuppered rumours that he was set to rejoin the band for good. “They are all great friends again,” he said. “Whether Robbie pops up at Wembley Stadium is up to him. Robbie Williams will not rejoin Take That because he wants to focus on his own solo career, according to reports. The singer was linked once again to his former group earlier this month after he wrote on his official website that he would “love” to rejoin the band.

He has also publicly reignited his friendship with singer Gary Barlow. However, Williams is now reported to have told his father, Pete, that he is too busy with his own solo material to return to Take That “Robbie told his dad Pete that he’ll be pushing himself back in the limelight – talk of a reunion couldn’t be further from the truth,” a source told the Sunday People. A pop track plays at bird-scaring volume as four men walk back and forth across a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles, singing to the sky. A helicopter circles noisily overhead, its onboard cameraman documenting their every move and expression. Here is the biggest and best of all Britboybands, the one that came back to be a man band, filming the video for Greatest Day, first single from a new album that by Christmas will be inescapable in British high streets and on radio. “Mad, this,” notes one ripe Mancunian voice in a moment of quiet between takes. Looking out across the expanse of asphalt and assessing the 30-storey drop to the street below (there’s no wall or barrier to prevent anyone just stepping off into infinity), three similar accents murmur their assent.
