Take That sell out biggest tour in UK history

Take That have sold out the biggest live tour in UK and Irish history. After tickets went on sale on Friday morning, the group smashed records with first-day and weekend sales, crashing vendor websites and swamping the entire BT telephone network. “We are speechless,” Gary Barlow said in a statement, “truly and utterly shocked.”

Let’s put it this way: lots of people want to see Robbie Williams reunited with Gary, Howard, Jason and Mark. At first, there were just 14 concerts to choose from, with European dates to be added on 5 November. But almost as soon as the wickets opened, it was clear these 14 were not enough. Websites for Ticketmaster, Ticketline and the Ticket Factory buckled under fan interest, according to the BBC, and as potential buyers jammed vendor telephone lines, BT said the national telephone network had received between three and four times the normal number of calls. Today morning Take That have announced Progress Live tour in 2011. 14-date summer stadium tour around UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Holland. The tickets for UK & Ireland dates will go on sale at 9 am (London Time) this friday 29th October 2010. The rest European tickets will go on sale on Friday 5th November.

Robbie Williams in Take That with Gary, Mark, Jason and Howard sings brand new song “The Flood”. The single premier was today (October 8th 2010) on BBC Radio One. Single premier as digital download will be on November 14en, CD single will be out on November 15en. Video premiere will be on Friday OCT 15en. 30 seconds teaser is on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bANe1h1ELIk.

The video for the single was filmed on Dorney Lake in Berkshire, which will play host to the rowing events at the 2012 Olympics. The video features the five members of the band racing against another crew in specially-made five-seater Sculling boats, wearing old-fashioned white rowing kits, bearing a custom-designed Take That crest.(source: Wikipedia)

Robbie Williams writes song for ‘adult panto’

Robbie Williams is planning to take time out from his Take That reunion to write a song for an “adult panto” show. The singer, who has just reunited with his old bandmates, will compose a track for a stage musical created by his friend Jonathan Wilkes. The show, Pantos On Strike, stars Wilkes and Phoenix Nights comedian Paddy McGuinness and will be seen at the Manchester Opera House in November. Read the rest…

Take That have been spotted shooting their first music video since Robbie Williams rejoined the group. The band spent two days filming the promo for new single The Flood – their first release since William’s quit TT back in 1996. Robbie, Gary Barlow and Co were seen dressed in traditional oarsmen costumes – much like the ones that Oxford and Cambridge rowing teams used to wear – as they shot the video in a row boat on a lake in Berks. An onlooker told The Sun: “They were having a great time – it was just five friends having a laugh.” Read the rest…
