Robbie Williams is allegedy building an indoor football pitch worth 800,000 in his LA mansion according to UK newspaper-The Sun. The Rudebox singer, who is an avid football fan, recently bought a 5 million pound LA mansion with the sole intention of building a full size football pitch. According to the paper, the singer has become increasingly ‘paranoid’ about people spying on him whilst playing the game and opted for his own pitch.

He is also said to be ecstatic over his hero David Beckham’s move to LA and hopes that his indoor pitch will entice the legendary footballer into a kick about with Williams. One of Williams’ close friends told the Sun, ‘Football is more of an obsession than a hobby for him these days-but the Yanks think it’s a little eccentric to have one, let alone two pitches in your house’.

Robbie Williams shows off his footie skills down under

Robbie Williams raised the roof at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome venue when he played a spectacular concert for 64,000 adoring fans. The British pop star, who is currently in Australia for a series of concerts, received a rapturous reception when he stepped out onto the stage amid a whirl of smoke and pyrotechnics.

The 32-year-old was probably equally as pleased to be visiting the country as its residents were to have him there, because the trip gave him the opportunity to indulge his favourite pastime. After wowing locals with his musical abilities, the Angels singer took advantage of the warmer climes by playing a football match in the city’s Olympic Park stadium.

The former Take That star, who is well-known for his life-long love of the game, takes to the field for a kickabout whenever he gets the chance. Earlier this year he even organised a charity match with many of the sport’s biggest stars, in order to raise money for Unicef. The performer, who counts David Beckham and Wayne Rooney among his friends, owns a stake in first division team Port Vale FC, too.

Robbie might have been forgiven for feeling a little tired on Monday, though, as he is nearing the end of a lengthy world tour. He is then looking forward to a break from the stage, which will no doubt give him plenty of time to work on his footie skills.
