Take That paid tribute to Robbie Williams after winning the British Group award at the Brit Awards 2011 tonight (February 15). The band, who welcomed Williams back into the fold last year, beat off competition from Biffy Clyro, The xx, Gorillaz and Mumford and Sons to take home the gong from the London O2 Arena ceremony.

After singer Jason Orange admitted from the stage that the band were “sheepish” about collecting awards, bandmate Mark Owen commented: “Rob, thanks for coming back mate, appreciate it.” It’s the first time Take That have won the award, despite receiving three previous nominations.

Earlier in the night, the band opened the show by playing their latest single ‘Kidz’. (source: nme.com)

The music video to Robbie’s new single, Morning Sun, the official Sport Relief single, is getting its first airing tonight (Feb 12th) on the One Show on BBC 1.

Directed by Vaughan Arnell, director of classic Robbie videos including Angels, Feel and, most recently, Bodies, the Morning Sun music video sees Robbie rocketing out of space on an intergalactic voyage through the stars.

Robbie Williams song “Morning Sun” will be released as this year’s single for BBC charity Sport Relief.

The song, taken from his album “Reality Killed The Video Star”, will be released on 8 March, ahead of the Sport Relief weekend which runs from 19 to 21 March. Williams said he was “very happy” to be involved. “Please join us in helping this very worthwhile cause,” he added.
